Before I joined the FAWE program, I was not in a good situation. I was in a relationship with a man and had 2 boys. My fiancé left me with the 2 children.
I heard about FAWE scholarship for girls and I took advantage of it but nearly dropped out due to the lack of support for my children. I got a security job with North Star Security and at the same time went to school. I held on and completed my studies and went on internship. During my internship, I was mainly responsible for dressing and designs of pillars, windows, doors, etc.
In 2013, I graduated from the Liberia Opportunity Industrialization Center (LOIC). Although not fully employed, I do contracts and work for my community. Presently, I am sub-contracted at Don Bosco as a mason.
Today, my life is not the same as yesterday. I am very happy because I am not dependent on anyone – I am self-supported and taking care of my family. I can now make decisions on my own. However, I will be fully satised when I further my studies at the University.
