FAWE National Chapters

We work through National Chapters (NCs) operating in 33 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. We believe that the lives of African girls can be changed if there is a strong voice articulating their concerns and continuously reminding educational authorities and other stakeholders of their responsibility to bring about gender-responsiveness in education. Our National Chapters, which operate largely as semi-autonomous national NGOs, form a network of partners in education across the continent who have the capacity to enhance the education of girls and women at all levels and to improve their chances in life.

They implement FAWE programmes and interventions at country level, working directly with ministries of education, strategic partners and communities to ensure that programmes are effectively implemented and fully supported by all stakeholders.
