Advocacy

Due to the complexity of gender constraints to female education, efforts to advance girls’ education cannot be undertaken in isolation. There is therefore need for sustained advocacy at the global, regional, national and community levels. Over the years, we have built awareness and consensus on the social and economic advantages of girls’ education through our advocacy work, which entails:

  • Influencing the integration of gender issues into national education policies and plans;
  • Sensitising parents and communities on the importance of girls’ education;
  • Reinforcing the girls’ education campaign through strategic partnerships with education stakeholders; and,
  • Contributing to global debates and advocacy campaigns on education and gender.
