Policy Advocacy
• Participated in development of EFA action plans
• Conducted a needs assessment survey of teenage mothers
• Participated in a review of laws affecting women
• Undertook assessment of gender responsiveness in policies of vocational and technological institutions

Community Advocacy
• Production of advocacy material for sensitization of various audiences on the importance of girls’ education: Newsletters, calendars, T-shirts, posters, stickers, brochures and fliers

• Production of radio programmes advocating against early marriages and traditional practices that hinder girls’ education
• Participation in Girls’ education day, International Women’s Day and Global Campaign for Education

Interventions
• Role model programme using women in science-based careers
• Awards to best performers in national examinations
• Attachment of female students to science based institutions
• Promoting learning of SMT among girls
• Study results on girls’ participation in SMT disseminated for mainstreaming in curriculum
• Counselling and sensitisation on HIV/AIDS
• HIV/AIDS education and support for the infected and affected
• Bursaries for girls from very needy backgrounds
