Prof. Penina Mlama is a Professor University of Dar es Salaam and a former Executive Director, FAWE Africa.

She is also a Professor of the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere University and the Chairperson in Pan African Studies, University of Dar es Salaam.

A playwright, she has also published extensively on culture, the arts, education and gender.
