In September, the Forum for African Women Educationalists Zimbabwe Chapter (FAWEZI) hosted a high-level mission from the FAWE Africa Regional Secretariat for a series of strategic engagements aimed at strengthening governance and accountability frameworks within the network.

These discussions underscored FAWE’s commitment to ensuring that its institutional structures, operational systems, and management practices remain robust, transparent, and responsive to emerging challenges in the education sector. By aligning governance mechanisms and enhancing accountability processes, FAWE is reinforcing the foundation upon which its transformative work in girls’ education continues to grow.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to review progress, share best practices, and chart pathways for improved efficiency and impact across all FAWE Chapters. As the organization strives to empower girls and young women through education, strong governance remains central to sustaining credibility, deepening partnerships, and scaling gender-responsive education initiatives across Africa.

Through these collaborative efforts, FAWE is reaffirming its leadership role in advancing gender equality in education—ensuring that every African girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.
