Aviation isn’t just about planes — it’s about vision, velocity, and possibility. And now, thanks to a new partnership taking shape, it’s about girls’ futures too.
This week, FAWE Africa was proud to sit down with leaders from ASKY Airlines Kenya in a meeting that was more than strategic — it was deeply symbolic. Represented by Country Manager A. Elom Komedja, Business Development Executive Samson Musyoka, and Sales Support Lead Carolyne Wanjiru, the ASKY team brought with them not just 15 years of pan-African aviation expertise, but a willingness to invest in a more inclusive future.
Together, we imagined what it might look like if girls across Africa saw the cockpit, the control tower, or the engineering lab as their rightful place. Not a dream — but a path. Not an exception — but a norm.
With a presence in 29 destinations and expanding, ASKY is not only connecting Africa by air — they’re now joining the movement to connect girls to opportunity, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Our conversation touched on real, practical next steps:
✈️ Mentorship pipelines for young women interested in aviation,
✈️ Collaborative industry partnerships to support career exposure,
✈️ STEM outreach integrated through FAWE’s grassroots networks and school programs.
But beyond logistics, what resonated was the shared belief that Africa’s future isn’t just in its skies — it’s in its daughters. The girls who today sit in classrooms with untapped talent and unspoken dreams. The girls who just need a glimpse of what’s possible.
This partnership is about giving them that glimpse — and turning it into a runway.
As we chart this course together, we’re not just hoping to see more women in aviation.
We’re working to ensure the sector takes off with gender equity as part of its flight plan.
Because when girls rise, we all fly higher.
