The energy of collective action filled the room at the recent #FemNet4GTE Africa Regional Action Workshop, where FAWE leaders stood at the forefront of powerful discussions on wielding education as a ultimate tool for justice and equality.
The workshop served as a dynamic platform for forging bold collaborations. Over two intensive days, participants from across the continent shared critical experiences, explored best practices, and—most importantly—reaffirmed the indispensable role of young feminist voices in shaping policies and practices for gender-transformative education in Africa.
The dialogue moved from inspiring expectations to actionable strategies, designed to accelerate progress toward a future where every classroom drives true equality.
Powerful FAWE voices resonated throughout the event, articulating a clear and unified vision:
*   “We are no longer speaking in isolated voices…” declared Catherine Asego, Senior Advocacy & Partnership Officer at FAWE Africa, capturing the workshop’s core theme of powerful, collective advocacy.
*   In his closing remarks, Mr. Wesley Chabwera, Executive Director of FAWE Malawi, underscored the critical urgency of this united front, challenging all stakeholders to translate dialogue into tangible action.
FAWE led strong calls to dismantle persistent barriers to girls’ education, urging all partners to remain steadfast in their commitment to a shared vision for the continent.
The workshop concluded with a resounding reminder of the goal: “Let us hold onto the vision that brought us together: an Africa fit for the 21st Century—where every child, especially girls, learns in safe, inclusive, and empowering environments; where education is a force for justice and transformation; and where our collective voice moves policies, budgets, and practices towards equality.”
