As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen partnerships with national stakeholders, FAWE Africa and FAWE Rwanda have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing girls’ education across the continent.

A high-level delegation comprising Ms. Teresa Omondi Adeitan, Deputy Executive Director and Head of Programmes, FAWE Africa; Mr. Costern Kanchele, Executive Director, FAWE Zambia; and Mr. Kossi Tsenou, Senior Communications Officer, FAWE Africa, joined by Ms. Alice Mutesi, National Coordinator, FAWE Rwanda, and Mr. MUSIIME Ruranga James, Programmes Coordinator, FAWE Rwanda, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Claudette Irere, State Minister for Education in Rwanda.

The discussions centered on deepening collaboration with the Ministry of Education, particularly in the implementation of the Mastercard Foundation–FAWE Phase Two Programme, which focuses on enhancing access, retention, and successful transition of girls in education. The meeting also explored broader opportunities for joint initiatives aimed at strengthening gender-responsive education and policy influence in Rwanda.

This engagement underscores FAWE’s regional approach to partnership-driven impact — working hand in hand with governments, ministries, and key stakeholders to transform education systems and ensure that every girl in Africa can learn, thrive, and lead.
