FAWE joined partners from SRHR Africa Trust (SAT), Plan International, and other consortium members in Nairobi for the Break Free Global Learning Workshop. The gathering brought together stakeholders from across the continent to reflect on the progress of the Break Free project, with a focus on shared learning and strategic adaptation.

Using the project’s Theory of Change as a guiding framework, each participating country assessed its journey toward achieving the project’s intended outcomes. The discussions highlighted best practices, lessons learned, and the importance of tailoring approaches to diverse contexts, particularly in cross-border and conflict-affected areas.

A compelling case study from Burkina Faso was presented by Baldini Camille of FAWE, who emphasized the value of working closely with community champions and engaging local administrations. In Burkina Faso, local leaders not only offered guidance but also served as security supervisors, ensuring the safety and sustainability of program activities.

These insights contributed to conversations around resource mobilization and informed future fundraising strategies. The workshop reaffirmed the power of collective learning and local engagement in advancing the rights and well-being of adolescents and youth across Africa.
