What happens when purpose meets presence?
In a moment that felt less like a training and more like a turning point, our team joined National Chapters across the continent for a virtual communication session hosted by the FAWE Regional Secretariat. But for us, something was different — we had the rare privilege of being joined in-person by Kossi Aimé Tsenou, Senior Communications Officer at the Regional Secretariat, who happened to be in Ghana on an official mission.

To describe his presence as enriching would be an understatement. It was catalytic. From the way he guided everyone through the depths of FAWE’s Communication Strategy and Brand Manual to the clarity he brought in redefining how we present our impact — every moment reminded them that communication is not just about saying things right, but about saying the right things, for the right reason, and in a way that reaches hearts.

The training was not just about logos, colors, or captions — though they did delve into FAWE’s new branding and how to use it powerfully. It was about unlocking communication as a tool for change. We explored strategies that connect deeply with communities, storytelling that reflects cultural truths, and advocacy that’s powered by data, not just desire.

A major takeaway? The reminder that Champions for Change are not just a program label — they are people. Voices. Stories. Faces of transformation and how we position them matters.

The FAWE Ghana team  left the session not just with notes and slides, but with renewed intention. Communication is not an afterthought in development—it is a lever of equity.
