FAWE, UNICEF and UNESCO-IICBA and seeking a consultant to revamp the Gender Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) training developed by FAWE in 2005. The goal of this consultancy is to develop a toolkit on Gender Responsive Pedagogy to support national governments across the African continent to integrate Gender Responsive Pedagogy in the classroom. It will be based on FAWE’s GRP Teachers’ Handbook from 2005 and other GRP guides developed by UNESCO and UNICEF.
FAWE’s GRP model trains teachers to be more gender aware and equips them with the skills to understand and address the specific learning needs of both sexes. It develops teaching practices that engender equal treatment and participation of girls and boys in the classroom and in the wider school community. Gender-Responsive Pedagogy has been introduced in Burkina Faso, Chad, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Guinea, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

I really wish I could be a member and push for this in my country- Cameroon- but our chapter seems dormant and despite several tries, I have yet to get information on individual membership procedure.
