Dr. Maggie Madimbo, PhD, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a board member of FAWE. Dr. Madimbo holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from Eastern University, Pennsylvania, obtained in 2013. She also holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Nairobi International School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Christian Education from African Bible College, Malawi.

With over 33 years of experience in education in Malawi, Dr. Madimbo has demonstrated exceptional skills and competencies in various roles. As the Vice Chancellor of African Bible College in Lilongwe since May 2013, she provides strategic leadership to the institution, oversees academic growth, and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders. Prior to this role, she served as an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Assistant at Eastern University, Pennsylvania, where she taught graduate courses and conducted research related activities.

Throughout her career, Dr. Madimbo has been actively involved in curriculum development, policy design, and program implementation in the field of education. Her roles at African Bible College included serving as the College Lecturer, Head of Education Department, Acting Academic Dean, and Dean of Women. She also held administrative positions such as Dean of Admissions and Dining Hall Supervisor.

Dr. Madimbo’s commitment to education and leadership development extends beyond her professional roles. She has been recognized for her contributions with awards such as the Faithful and Dedicated Servant Award from African Bible College and prestigious scholarships including the Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship, and the International Peace Scholar (PEO).

In addition to her extensive career in education, Dr. Madimbo is actively involved in various local and international organizations. She serves as the Board Chair of FAWEMA and holds council positions in several universities and theological colleges. She is also a board member of Urban Promise International and Network for African Congregational Theology (NETACT), among others.

Dr. Madimbo’s scholarly contributions include presentations and publications on topics such as mentoring, female leadership development, gender and education, and transformative leadership. She is the author of “Transformative and Engaging Leadership: Lessons from Indigenous African Women” published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Her dedication, leadership, and expertise make Dr. Maggie Madimbo a valuable asset to the FAWE board, where she continues to advocate for the empowerment of girls and women through education and leadership development.
