Dr. Kékéli Jeannine AGOUNKE, is a distinguished Population and Development Expert with a specialization in Education, Gender, and Human Rights. Her educational journey includes earning a Ph.D. in Sociology with a Multidisciplinary DEA Diploma from the University of Benin, Lomé, Togo. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology and a Teaching License from the same institution. Dr. AGOUNKE furthered her studies with postgraduate training at the National Institute of Economics and Applied Statistics (INSEA) in Rabat, Morocco, specializing in Population and Sustainable Development. She also received training from the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) UNESCO in Paris.

Dr. AGOUNKE’s academic pursuits began with her secondary education at Collège Notre Dame des Apôtres in Lomé, Togo, and Institut Montalembert in Nogent-sur-Marne, France. She earned her diploma, B E P C, from Collège Notre Dame des Apôtres and her BAC A4 diploma from Lycée des Jeunes Filles Bouaké in Côte d’Ivoire. Her primary education was completed at Our Lady of the Apostles in Tsévié, Togo.

Throughout her career, Dr. AGOUNKE has undertaken various professional internships and training programs focusing on social services management, information/education communication, community-based services, and adolescent health systems evaluation, among others. She is proficient in French, with good written knowledge of English and Spanish, and average spoken skills in English and Spanish.

Dr. AGOUNKE’s extensive work experience includes roles such as Professor of Philosophy, Head of Programs Department at the Association Togolese for Family Well-Being, Deputy Director of Third Degree Education of Togo, and Technical Advisor to the Minister of Primary Education and Secondary. She has also served as Inspector General of Education and Associate Researcher at the Demographic Research Unit of Lomé.

Since 2014, Dr. AGOUNKE has held the position of Executive Director of the Girls and Women’s Academy while simultaneously serving as a university lecturer. She has engaged in various consultancies and expertise activities, focusing on health, education, gender, development, and policy analysis.

Dr. AGOUNKE is actively involved in community life, serving as the Founding President of A.H.U.E.F.A. (Humanitarian Association for the Union and Education of Women for Self-Promotion), President of ECOWAS Women and Peace Network Togo Section, and Founder of the Togo branch of F.A.W.E. (Forum for African Women Educationalists), among other roles.

Her professional achievements have been recognized with honors such as the Knight of the French Academic Palms and the Houinyigan Women’s Excellence Award 2014 from AFRIMUSE. Dr. AGOUNKE is a dedicated individual with a dynamic spirit, creativity, and a strong sense of teamwork. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, swimming, music, and traveling.
