FAWENA Strengthens Partnerships for Inclusive Education in Namibia

FAWENA joined UNICEF and the Office of the First Spouse in a high-level meeting to support preparations for the upcoming Boys’ Back to School Campaign in Namibia. The engagement reflected a shared commitment to addressing educational exclusion and ensuring that all children have the opportunity to access, remain in, and benefit from quality education.

While FAWE’s core mission remains advancing girls’ and women’s education, the organization recognizes that achieving gender equality in education requires addressing barriers that affect all learners. Discussions explored how FAWENA’s expertise in gender-responsive education can contribute to inclusive approaches that support vulnerable boys while safeguarding and advancing gains made in girls’ education.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders and identify strategies for promoting school retention, positive gender norms, and supportive learning environments. By engaging in these conversations, FAWENA reaffirmed its commitment to working with governments, development partners, and communities to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and contribute to national development.

The partnership underscores the importance of holistic and inclusive education systems where progress for one group does not come at the expense of another, but rather contributes to stronger outcomes for all learners.
