On March 5, 2025, FAWE Burkina held a pivotal meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Ministry in charge of Youth. This high-level audience marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to ensure the sustainability of the Break Free! Program and to strengthen resource mobilization strategies for youth-focused initiatives in Burkina Faso.

 A Strategic Step Toward Sustainability
The meeting is part of a broader consultation process that began during the National Youth Advocacy Meeting held on October 24, 2024, under the leadership of the Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment (MSJE). The discussions aimed to finalize the official establishment of a National Support Committee for Resource Mobilization, which will play a crucial role in funding youth activities and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Break Free! Program.

The Break Free! Program, implemented by FAWE Burkina, has been instrumental in empowering young people, particularly girls, by addressing barriers to education, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and economic opportunities. The establishment of this committee will not only secure the program’s achievements but also enhance FAWE Burkina’s overall resource mobilization strategy.

Key Objectives of the National Support Committee
The National Support Committee will focus on:
1. Resource Mobilization: Developing innovative strategies to secure funding for youth-led initiatives and programs.
2. Sustainability of Break Free!: Ensuring that the program’s impact continues beyond its current phase by creating a sustainable framework for youth empowerment.
3. Strengthening Partnerships: Collaborating with government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and international donors to amplify the impact of youth-focused programs.

Gratitude and Collaboration
FAWE Burkina extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Chief of Staff of the Ministry in charge of Youth and the FAWE focal points at the MSJE for their unwavering support and commitment to youth empowerment. Their collaboration is a testament to the shared vision of creating a brighter future for Burkina Faso’s youth.

 A Win for Burkina Faso
As FAWE Burkina continues to advocate for the rights and opportunities of young people, this meeting represents a significant milestone in the journey toward sustainable development and youth empowerment. Together, we are building a future where every young person in Burkina Faso can thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.

C’est le Faso qui gagne! (It is Burkina Faso that wins!)
