La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation, compos\u00e9e de Mme Teresa Omondi-Adeitan, directrice ex\u00e9cutive adjointe et responsable des programmes du FAWE Afrique, et de M. Kossi Tsenou, coordinateur du bureau sous-r\u00e9gional du FAWE pour l\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest et l\u2019Afrique centrale et charg\u00e9 de communication senior, a rencontr\u00e9 Mme Larisa Akrofie, responsable du programme pour l\u2019\u00e9ducation des filles \u00e0 la Fondation Mastercard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette r\u00e9union a constitu\u00e9 un cadre essentiel pour faire le point sur les progr\u00e8s de la collaboration entre les deux organisations dans la mise en \u0153uvre du programme \u2019 Second Chance Pathway \u00bb, une initiative novatrice visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur pour les jeunes femmes et les jeunes hommes issus de milieux d\u00e9favoris\u00e9s dans toute l'Afrique subsaharienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le programme \u00ab Second Chance Pathway \u00bb, qui en est actuellement \u00e0 sa deuxi\u00e8me phase, constituait l'une des initiatives \u00e9ducatives les plus ambitieuses du continent. Avec plus de 4 000 participants b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d\u00e9j\u00e0 de ce programme dans dix pays africains \u2014 dont l'Ouganda, le Rwanda, la Zambie, le Malawi, le Ghana, le Lib\u00e9ria, la Tanzanie, le Zimbabwe, l'\u00c9thiopie et le S\u00e9n\u00e9gal \u2014, celui-ci offrait des opportunit\u00e9s qui changeaient la vie de jeunes qui, sans cela, auraient pu \u00eatre exclus de l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le programme ciblait les jeunes les plus marginalis\u00e9s, en accordant une attention particuli\u00e8re aux jeunes en situation de handicap et aux r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, veillant \u00e0 ce que 10-15% des participants proviennent de ces populations vuln\u00e9rables. En offrant un accompagnement complet comprenant les frais de scolarit\u00e9, des allocations et un accompagnement par des mentors, cette initiative a permis de lever les obstacles qui, depuis toujours, emp\u00eachaient les jeunes marginalis\u00e9s d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et, \u00e0 terme, \u00e0 un emploi digne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019un des axes centraux de la strat\u00e9gie actuelle du FAWE consistait \u00e0 donner davantage la parole aux jeunes. Au cours de cette visite de courtoisie, Mme Omondi-Adeitan et M. Tsenou ont soulign\u00e9 l\u2019engagement du FAWE \u00e0 faire en sorte que les jeunes ne soient pas de simples b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires, mais des partenaires actifs et des co-cr\u00e9ateurs du changement dans leur parcours \u00e9ducatif. Cette approche s'inscrit dans la philosophie de la Fondation Mastercard, selon laquelle un impact durable ne peut s'exercer que lorsque les jeunes sont impliqu\u00e9s en tant que partenaires dans la construction de leur avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La r\u00e9union au Ghana a mis en \u00e9vidence l\u2019engagement global du FAWE \u00e0 veiller \u00e0 ce que son action reste en phase avec les priorit\u00e9s r\u00e9gionales. En collaborant directement avec le bureau ghan\u00e9en de la Fondation Mastercard, le FAWE a renforc\u00e9 l\u2019ad\u00e9quation entre ses programmes et les objectifs strat\u00e9giques de la Fondation, notamment celui de permettre \u00e0 30 millions de jeunes, en particulier des femmes, d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 un emploi digne et \u00e9panouissant d\u2019ici 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le partenariat entre le FAWE et la Fondation Mastercard, qui s\u2019\u00e9tend d\u00e9sormais sur plus d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie, est devenu un pilier de la promotion de l\u2019\u00e9ducation des filles \u00e0 travers l\u2019Afrique. Sous la direction de Mme Omondi-Adeitan, la FAWE a obtenu un financement important de la part de la Fondation, notamment pour soutenir le programme \u2019Second Chance Pathway\u00bb, d\u2019une dur\u00e9e de sept ans. Cette collaboration durable a permis d\u2019aider des milliers de jeunes, en leur ouvrant des voies d\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation et \u00e0 l\u2019emploi qui \u00e9taient auparavant inimaginables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mme Larisa Akrofie, en tant que responsable du programme pour l'\u00e9ducation des filles au sein de la Fondation, a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le central dans ce partenariat. Forte de plus de neuf ans d\u2019exp\u00e9rience dans la gestion d\u2019initiatives complexes impliquant plusieurs pays en Afrique subsaharienne, elle s\u2019est forg\u00e9 une r\u00e9putation d\u2019architecte hors pair du changement dans le secteur de l\u2019\u00e9ducation. Son leadership dans la conception d\u2019initiatives \u00e0 fort impact a permis \u00e0 de jeunes femmes de s\u2019orienter avec succ\u00e8s vers des parcours \u00e9ducatifs et professionnels, faisant d\u2019elle une partenaire id\u00e9ale pour la mission du FAWE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c0 l\u2019issue de cette visite de courtoisie, les deux parties ont r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 leur engagement \u00e0 approfondir leur collaboration. Cette rencontre a soulign\u00e9 l\u2019importance de tels \u00e9changes pour garantir que le travail de la FAWE reste en phase avec les priorit\u00e9s r\u00e9gionales et a renforc\u00e9 son engagement \u00e0 promouvoir l\u2019\u00e9ducation des filles et des jeunes femmes \u00e0 travers l\u2019Afrique. Le partenariat entre le FAWE et la Fondation Mastercard t\u00e9moignait de ce qu\u2019il \u00e9tait possible d\u2019accomplir lorsque des organisations s\u2019unissaient autour d\u2019une vision commune.
