Des \u00e9tudes montrent que parmi les raisons qui expliquent le faible taux de passage des filles \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole secondaire,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edt.org\/research-and-insights\/transitions-from-primary-to-secondary-school-and-onwards-into-higher-education-and-work-girls-expectations-and-experiences-in-kenya\/\">contrainte financi\u00e8re<\/a> est le principal obstacle au passage de l'\u00e9cole primaire \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole secondaire, puis \u00e0 l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur ; les filles dont les parents travaillent dans le secteur informel ont quatre fois plus de chances d'\u00eatre confront\u00e9es \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me que celles dont les parents travaillent dans le secteur formel.<\/p>\n<p>Le mod\u00e8le Tuseme du FAWE (\u201cLet us speak out\u201d en kiswahili) permet aux filles et aux gar\u00e7ons d'identifier, de formuler et de relever les d\u00e9fis qui affectent leur \u00e9ducation. Dans le cadre du programme Imarisha Msichana, en partenariat avec la Fondation Mastercard, le FAWE s'est efforc\u00e9 de r\u00e9duire les grossesses chez les adolescentes au Kenya en cr\u00e9ant des clubs de m\u00e8res - des espaces d'apprentissage s\u00fbrs pour les jeunes m\u00e8res dans cinq comt\u00e9s. Le programme de quatre ans a \u00e9galement lanc\u00e9 des clubs Tuseme dans 160 \u00e9coles \u00e0 travers 20 comt\u00e9s, favorisant l'autonomisation des \u00e9tudiants. L'impact de ces clubs s'est manifest\u00e9 dans les r\u00e9sultats du KCSE, r\u00e9cemment publi\u00e9s, o\u00f9 certains membres ont obtenu des r\u00e9sultats exceptionnels.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Le triomphe de Mary contre vents et mar\u00e9es<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rencontrez Mary Wanjiru Mbugua, originaire de la ville de Murungaru \u00e0 Kinangop, dans le comt\u00e9 de Nyandarua, dont l'histoire ne ressemble \u00e0 aucune autre. Elle a rejoint le club Tuseme o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 encadr\u00e9e et soutenue pour faire face \u00e0 sa situation unique de m\u00e8re \u00e9tudiante adolescente ; un fait qui lui a valu les moqueries et les railleries de ses camarades de classe. Elle a pu reprendre espoir et confiance, et a finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lue pr\u00e9sidente du club TUSEME, o\u00f9 elle a d\u00e9fendu la protection des filles contre les abus et les grossesses pr\u00e9coces, la participation des filles \u00e0 l'enseignement des STIM et la conservation de l'environnement avec le soutien du mouvement de la ceinture verte. Elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lue \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l'\u00e9cole, inspirant d'autres filles \u00e0 devenir des leaders.<\/p>\n<p>En 2024, Mary passe ses examens KCSE \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole secondaire de Murungaru et obtient la note globale de B (PLAIN). Cette excellente performance lui permettra d'obtenir une place dans l'une des universit\u00e9s kenyanes dans le cadre des stages en cours. Elle envisage d'obtenir une licence en sciences infirmi\u00e8res et d'\u00eatre un mod\u00e8le pour les jeunes filles, en leur montrant qu'en d\u00e9pit de leur situation pass\u00e9e, il est possible d'atteindre ses objectifs. Avec le soutien d'organisations telles que le FAWE, elle a l'intention de devenir un mentor pour aider les m\u00e8res adolescentes \u00e0 se r\u00e9inscrire \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole et \u00e0 renouer avec leurs r\u00eaves. La direction de l'\u00e9cole lui a offert une opportunit\u00e9 o\u00f9 elle sert actuellement de mentor \u00e0 ses pairs.<\/p>\n<p>Selon ses propres termes, Mary d\u00e9clare,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cJe voudrais remercier le FAWE pour sa contribution \u00e0 l'autonomisation des filles et des femmes. Tout le bien que vous faites continuera \u00e0 transformer la jeune fille et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Je suis convaincue que le FAWE est comme une oasis dans un d\u00e9sert pour de nombreuses filles. Vous avez donn\u00e9 de l'espoir \u00e0 celles d'entre nous qui ne voyaient que l'obscurit\u00e9 sur leur chemin. Je vous remercie.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alors que les \u00e9tudiants font face aux d\u00e9fis de la vie, on remarque que les flux et reflux de la vie pr\u00e9sentent un caract\u00e8re unique. Les clubs Tuseme ne sont pas r\u00e9serv\u00e9s aux m\u00e8res adolescentes qui ont obtenu une seconde chance d'\u00e9ducation en retournant \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole. L'histoire de Sharlyne ci-dessous montre comment Tuseme a \u00e9t\u00e9 une b\u00e9n\u00e9diction de la mani\u00e8re la plus inattendue qui soit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les meilleurs gains de Sharlyne Achieng dans les clubs Tuseme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sharlyne Achieng\u2019 est originaire du comt\u00e9 de Bungoma. Son espoir de poursuivre ses \u00e9tudes a \u00e9t\u00e9 an\u00e9anti lorsque sa m\u00e8re est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e en 2020, pendant les vacances de d\u00e9cembre. Elle a obtenu 313 points lorsque les r\u00e9sultats du KCPE ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s quelques jours plus tard. Sa tante maternelle l'a recueillie, mais au lieu de l'emmener \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole, elle a travaill\u00e9 comme serveuse dans un bar local, o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9e pour avoir travaill\u00e9 comme mineure. Sharlyne s'est enfuie apr\u00e8s sa lib\u00e9ration pour aller chez son oncle maternel, qui l'a inscrite \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole secondaire. Malheureusement, cela n'a pas dur\u00e9 longtemps, car elle a d\u00fb abandonner momentan\u00e9ment l'\u00e9cole pour des raisons familiales. Les membres ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 parler des difficult\u00e9s qui les affectaient et, avec l'aide sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e des parrains, ils ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 partager leurs exp\u00e9riences, y compris les obstacles scolaires et sociaux \u00e0 leur d\u00e9veloppement. C'est \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0 que Sharlyne a fait part de ses difficult\u00e9s aux membres du club. Elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sauv\u00e9e par un bienfaiteur qui ne pouvait cependant pas payer ses frais de scolarit\u00e9. Gr\u00e2ce au club, elle a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 trouver un autre bienfaiteur qui l'a aid\u00e9e \u00e0 payer ses frais de scolarit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Rapidement, la vie sociale et scolaire de Sharlyne a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9voluer positivement. Avec la garantie d'un logement et du paiement des frais de scolarit\u00e9, elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s'am\u00e9liorer dans son travail scolaire. Sur le plan social, elle a acquis la confiance n\u00e9cessaire pour dire NON aux activit\u00e9s socioculturelles qui nuisent au bien-\u00eatre et au d\u00e9veloppement d'une jeune fille. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa participation active, elle a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le club dans divers forums organis\u00e9s par le FAWE dans le comt\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Avant de rejoindre le Tuseme Club, ses r\u00e9sultats \u00e9taient de l'ordre de D+ et moins, mais elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s'am\u00e9liorer. Son comportement \u00e9tait exemplaire \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole, ce qui lui a permis de guider d'autres \u00e9l\u00e8ves. Sharlyne a pass\u00e9 le KCSE en 2024 et a obtenu une note de <strong>C+<\/strong> Elle souhaite faire carri\u00e8re dans le secteur de la sant\u00e9. Chaque \u00e9l\u00e8ve qui rejoint le club a une histoire positive unique \u00e0 raconter sur l'impact du club dans sa vie et celle de ses proches.
