Charle de la zone d'Ulongwe et Mlle Balije de Namalumba. Leurs points de vue ont permis de mettre en lumi\u00e8re des questions cruciales concernant l'enseignement primaire au Malawi, notamment les tendances en mati\u00e8re d'abandon scolaire, les programmes d'alimentation scolaire, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des \u00e9l\u00e8ves et les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour lutter contre la violence sexiste li\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole (SRGBV). Voici les principaux points \u00e0 retenir de la discussion :<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tendances du d\u00e9crochage scolaire : Un d\u00e9fi saisonnier\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L'une des questions les plus urgentes a \u00e9t\u00e9 la tendance saisonni\u00e8re \u00e0 l'abandon scolaire, en particulier entre janvier et f\u00e9vrier. M. Charle a expliqu\u00e9 que la faim est un facteur important, en particulier pour les enfants inscrits dans les programmes de d\u00e9veloppement de la petite enfance (DPE). Sans une alimentation ad\u00e9quate, de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e8ves sont incapables d'aller \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, ce qui entra\u00eene une augmentation de l'absent\u00e9isme et finalement des abandons scolaires.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programmes d'alimentation scolaire : Changer la donne\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pour lutter contre la faim et am\u00e9liorer l'engagement des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, quatre \u00e9coles de la r\u00e9gion ont mis en place des programmes d'alimentation. Ces initiatives ont donn\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats prometteurs en encourageant l'assiduit\u00e9 et la r\u00e9tention des \u00e9l\u00e8ves. Mlle Balije a soulign\u00e9 l'importance d'\u00e9tendre ces programmes \u00e0 d'autres \u00e9coles, car ils permettent non seulement de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins nutritionnels imm\u00e9diats, mais aussi de cr\u00e9er un environnement plus propice \u00e0 l'apprentissage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00e9curit\u00e9 des \u00e9tudiants : La s\u00e9curit\u00e9 par le nombre\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les deux PEA ont not\u00e9 que la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e9tait bien assur\u00e9e, les enfants se rendant \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole et en revenant \u00e0 pied en groupes. Cette pratique a permis de r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement les risques et de s\u00e9curiser les trajets des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, en particulier des filles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Efforts du minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation : Progr\u00e8s en mati\u00e8re de violence sexuelle et sexiste\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des progr\u00e8s louables dans la lutte contre la violence sexiste \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole. Les principales \u00e9tapes sont les suivantes :<\/p>\n<p>- Reconna\u00eetre les dangers de la violence sexuelle et sexiste et l'int\u00e9grer dans le code de conduite de l'\u00e9cole.<\/p>\n<p>- \u00c9laborer des lignes directrices pour lutter contre la violence sexuelle et sexiste, bien que la mise en \u0153uvre compl\u00e8te soit encore en cours.<\/p>\n<p>Ces efforts refl\u00e8tent un engagement croissant en faveur de la cr\u00e9ation d'environnements d'apprentissage plus s\u00fbrs et plus inclusifs pour tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strat\u00e9gies visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la violence sexuelle et sexiste et le taux d'abandon scolaire<\/strong>es<\/p>\n<p>Pour mieux lutter contre la violence sexuelle et sexiste et r\u00e9duire les taux d'abandon scolaire, les PEA ont partag\u00e9 plusieurs strat\u00e9gies efficaces :<\/p>\n<p>- Suivi r\u00e9gulier de l'absent\u00e9isme : Le suivi des sch\u00e9mas d'assiduit\u00e9 permet d'identifier les \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 risque et d'intervenir rapidement.<\/p>\n<p>- Groupes de m\u00e8res autonomes : Ces groupes communautaires jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel en soutenant les \u00e9l\u00e8ves, en particulier les filles, et en les encourageant \u00e0 rester \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sch\u00e9mas d'inscription et d'abandon : Une perspective de genre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Si les filles sont plus nombreuses que les gar\u00e7ons \u00e0 s'inscrire \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole, le taux d'abandon scolaire des gar\u00e7ons est plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. Cette tendance met en \u00e9vidence la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'interventions cibl\u00e9es pour r\u00e9pondre aux d\u00e9fis particuliers auxquels sont confront\u00e9s les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de sexe masculin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les d\u00e9fis de l'\u00e9cole Chilumba : Acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 aux classes sup\u00e9rieures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l'\u00e9cole Chilumba, environ 47% des filles abandonnent leurs \u00e9tudes apr\u00e8s la septi\u00e8me classe en raison de l'offre limit\u00e9e de l'\u00e9cole. L'obligation de passer par une \u00e9cole \u00e9loign\u00e9e pour poursuivre leurs \u00e9tudes d\u00e9courage de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e8ves, en particulier les filles, de continuer leurs \u00e9tudes. Ce probl\u00e8me souligne la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper les infrastructures \u00e9ducatives et de soutenir les \u00e9l\u00e8ves qui passent dans les classes sup\u00e9rieures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D\u00e9fis pour les \u00e9tudiants handicap\u00e9s : Un appel \u00e0 l'\u00e9ducation inclusive\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9l\u00e8ves handicap\u00e9s se heurtent \u00e0 des obstacles importants en raison du manque d'enseignants sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s. Actuellement, un seul enseignant de ce type est pr\u00e9sent dans l'ensemble du district, ce qui prive de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e8ves du soutien dont ils ont besoin. L'une des principales recommandations issues de la discussion est que le minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation int\u00e8gre l'\u00e9ducation aux besoins sp\u00e9ciaux dans le programme de formation des enseignants.
