Les cinq ann\u00e9es pass\u00e9es par Teresa au sein du FAWE ont \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9es par des r\u00e9alisations transformatrices, un d\u00e9vouement in\u00e9branlable et une vision d'un avenir meilleur pour l'\u00e9ducation des filles en Afrique. Son leadership continue d'inspirer ses coll\u00e8gues, ses partenaires et les innombrables filles dont la vie a \u00e9t\u00e9 chang\u00e9e par le travail du FAWE. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Teresa est anim\u00e9e par une passion de longue date pour la cr\u00e9ation de changements positifs et l'\u00e9dification de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s plus inclusives et plus \u00e9quitables. Avocate \u00e0 la Haute Cour du Kenya, elle est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les droits de l'homme, le genre et l'inclusion sociale, avec 19 ans d'exp\u00e9rience dans le secteur non gouvernemental. Au-del\u00e0 de ses r\u00e9alisations professionnelles, Teresa est une \u00e9pouse et m\u00e8re de deux enfants. Elle trouve son bonheur dans les voyages d'aventure et l'immersion dans des cultures diff\u00e9rentes. Lorsqu'on lui demande ce qu'elle ferait dans sa prochaine vie, elle affirme fermement qu'elle se consacrerait \u00e0 nouveau \u00e0 la d\u00e9fense des droits des enfants et des femmes, qu'elle ne ferait pas un autre choix.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

R\u00e9alisations importantes et impact durable<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Au cours de son mandat de cinq ans, Teresa a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le essentiel dans certaines des r\u00e9alisations les plus remarquables du FAWE, telles que le Plan strat\u00e9gique 2019-2023, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 par S.E. Macky Sall, alors Pr\u00e9sident du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, en f\u00e9vrier 2020 lors de la r\u00e9union ordinaire du Comit\u00e9 des Dix (C10) sur l'\u00e9ducation, la science et la technologie au si\u00e8ge de l'UA \u00e0 Addis-Abeba, et le Plan strat\u00e9gique 2024-2028, d\u00e9voil\u00e9 par le Ministre zambien de l'\u00e9ducation, l'Honorable Douglas Syakalima, \u00e0 Lusaka, en janvier 2024. Teresa a contribu\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 la croissance des partenariats de financement du FAWE. Son implication directe dans l'obtention de 12 partenariats cl\u00e9s a eu un impact particuli\u00e8rement important. Elle a notamment contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'obtention de deux subventions importantes de la Mastercard Foundation : $5 million d'euros pour le programme Imarisha Msichana au Kenya, qui vise \u00e0 <\/span>r\u00e9duire l'incidence des <\/span>grossesse chez les adolescentes<\/span> dans 20 comt\u00e9s du Kenya<\/span> et plus de $182 millions d'euros pour soutenir une initiative de sept ans dans dix pays africains, offrant aux jeunes femmes et aux jeunes hommes une seconde chance d'acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur. Elle a \u00e9galement jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le essentiel dans l'obtention de subventions du gouvernement n\u00e9erlandais, du FAWE travaillant en consortium, de Break Free Alliance et de Make Way Consortium, ainsi que de la subvention du Centre de recherches pour le d\u00e9veloppement international (CRDI) pour un projet sur l'\u00e9change de connaissances et d'innovations en Afrique de l'Est ciblant les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s et les personnes d\u00e9plac\u00e9es au Kenya, en Ouganda et en \u00c9thiopie.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

L'une des r\u00e9alisations dont Teresa est la plus fi\u00e8re est le programme \"Les femmes et la participation politique\", qui se concentre sur l'identification et le d\u00e9veloppement du leadership f\u00e9minin depuis l'\u00e9cole primaire jusqu'\u00e0 l'universit\u00e9. Dans le cadre de ce projet soutenu par le gouvernement su\u00e9dois par l'interm\u00e9diaire d'International IDEA, le FAWE a mis au point un mod\u00e8le de programme de leadership pour les \u00e9coles primaires, qui ouvrira la voie \u00e0 une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de femmes autonomes qui seront le moteur du d\u00e9veloppement de l'Afrique.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Une passion pour l'autonomisation et le changement<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En rejoignant le FAWE, Teresa a \u00e9t\u00e9 attir\u00e9e par la vaste port\u00e9e g\u00e9ographique et l'impact du FAWE sur la vie des filles \u00e0 travers le monde.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un tournant\"\"C'est lors de sa premi\u00e8re mission, en assistant \u00e0 une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de remise des dipl\u00f4mes aux boursiers du FAWE au Rwanda, que Teresa a pris conscience de l'importance de l'\u00e9ducation pour la r\u00e9alisation d'un objectif plus grand. Les t\u00e9moignages poignants de ces jeunes femmes, qui avaient surmont\u00e9 d'immenses d\u00e9fis pour r\u00e9ussir dans leurs \u00e9tudes, ont profond\u00e9ment \u00e9mu Teresa et renforc\u00e9 son engagement en faveur de l'\u00e9ducation, non seulement en tant qu'\u00e9l\u00e9ment fondamental de l'autonomisation des femmes, mais aussi en tant que cl\u00e9 pour lib\u00e9rer le potentiel des femmes dans toute l'Afrique.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stimuler la croissance et l'innovation organisationnelles<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En tant que fervente partisane de la croissance des organisations, Teresa a d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment travaill\u00e9 avec les sections nationales du FAWE afin d'accro\u00eetre leur dynamisme et a d\u00e9fendu l'investissement dans les ressources humaines du FAWE en tant que principal atout d'une institution. Elle a influenc\u00e9 l'am\u00e9lioration des politiques et proc\u00e9dures en mati\u00e8re de ressources humaines, contribuant ainsi \u00e0 une main-d'\u0153uvre plus motiv\u00e9e et plus efficace. Les formidables \u00e9quipes du FAWE continuent de proposer des mod\u00e8les innovants qui ont modifi\u00e9 l'\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de l'\u00e9ducation en Afrique. Par exemple, les bourses d'\u00e9tudes compl\u00e8tes et la p\u00e9dagogie sensible au genre ; le FAWE est la seule organisation connue pour couvrir les co\u00fbts des nounous pour les m\u00e8res adolescentes, ce qui permet \u00e0 ces derni\u00e8res de retourner \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole et de se concentrer sur leur \u00e9ducation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarder vers l'avenir<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Teresa souhaite que le FAWE continue \u00e0 \u00eatre un leader d'opinion dans le domaine de l'\u00e9ducation des filles en Afrique et qu'il \u00e9tende sa port\u00e9e \u00e0 l'ensemble des 54 pays africains. Elle s'engage \u00e0 continuer \u00e0 renforcer les sections nationales du FAWE, \u00e0 cultiver une main-d'\u0153uvre dynamique et \u00e9panouie, et \u00e0 garantir les ressources financi\u00e8res n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de ces objectifs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Un appel \u00e0 l'action<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Teresa r\u00e9fl\u00e9chit aux d\u00e9fis de l'\u00e9ducation des filles en Afrique, en particulier aux pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s sexistes profond\u00e9ment enracin\u00e9s qui persistent dans de nombreuses soci\u00e9t\u00e9s. Elle plaide pour la poursuite des efforts visant \u00e0 promouvoir des politiques, des lois et des pratiques tenant compte de la dimension de genre, ainsi que des mod\u00e8les \u00e9ducatifs novateurs qui soutiennent les filles et les femmes. Elle souhaite une convergence, o\u00f9 les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour d\u00e9fendre les droits des filles et des gar\u00e7ons conduisent \u00e0 une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 plus \u00e9quitable. Elle le dit avec justesse, <\/span>\u201cLe contexte de la d\u00e9fense des droits des filles ou des gar\u00e7ons est diff\u00e9rent et repose sur des exp\u00e9riences diff\u00e9rentes.
