Nairobi, Kenya :<\/strong> Dans une vibrante c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la jeunesse et de l'\u00e9ducation, le Forum des \u00e9ducatrices africaines (FAWE), en partenariat avec la Fondation Mastercard, a comm\u00e9mor\u00e9 la Journ\u00e9e de l'enfant africain sur le th\u00e8me \u201cL'\u00e9ducation pour tous les enfants en Afrique : Le temps est venu\u201d. John's Catholic Primary School \u00e0 Korogocho, a soulign\u00e9 le besoin urgent d'assurer une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9 \u00e0 tous les enfants du continent.<\/p>\n

La Journ\u00e9e de l'enfant africain rappelle avec force les d\u00e9fis permanents auxquels sont confront\u00e9s les enfants africains et l'imp\u00e9ratif de pr\u00e9server leurs droits. Le th\u00e8me de cette ann\u00e9e souligne l'importance cruciale de l'\u00e9ducation en tant que droit humain fondamental et pierre angulaire du d\u00e9veloppement durable en Afrique. En partenariat avec la Fondation Mastercard, le FAWE Kenya met en \u0153uvre le programme Imarisha Msichana, qui vise \u00e0 r\u00e9duire de mani\u00e8re significative l'incidence des grossesses chez les adolescentes au Kenya, un obstacle majeur \u00e0 la participation des adolescentes et des jeunes femmes \u00e0 une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9. Le programme est mis en \u0153uvre dans 20 comt\u00e9s du Kenya, par trois partenaires de mise en \u0153uvre - le FAWE Kenya, le Centre pour l'\u00e9ducation et la sensibilisation aux droits (CREAW) et la Croix-Rouge du Kenya.<\/p>\n

S'exprimant lors de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, Mme Teresa Omondi-Adeitan, Directrice ex\u00e9cutive adjointe du FAWE Afrique, a soulign\u00e9 la nature critique de cette mission : \u201cNous sommes honor\u00e9s d'unir nos forces en cette journ\u00e9e importante pour d\u00e9fendre les droits \u00e0 l'\u00e9ducation de chaque enfant africain. Le moment est en effet venu de faire des avanc\u00e9es audacieuses vers une \u00e9ducation inclusive et \u00e9quitable\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPermettre \u00e0 diverses jeunes femmes d'acc\u00e9der \u00e0 un apprentissage de qualit\u00e9 - en particulier au niveau de l'enseignement secondaire - est en fin de compte un investissement dans des \u00e9conomies plus fortes, plus prosp\u00e8res et plus r\u00e9silientes. Nous ne pouvons pas nous permettre de laisser de c\u00f4t\u00e9 les talents qui alimentent le progr\u00e8s \u00e9conomique du Kenya, et chacun peut jouer un r\u00f4le en s'attaquant aux obstacles qui emp\u00eachent les jeunes femmes de r\u00e9aliser leur potentiel\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mme Hannah Tsadik, directrice nationale pour le Kenya \u00e0 la Mastercard Foundation.<\/p>\n

Donner la priorit\u00e9 \u00e0 l'investissement dans l'\u00e9ducation, construire des syst\u00e8mes r\u00e9silients et adopter des approches novatrices sont autant de moyens de donner \u00e0 la jeunesse africaine les moyens de devenir des leaders, des innovateurs et des architectes d'un avenir plus radieux pour le continent. \u201cEn nous r\u00e9unissant pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la Journ\u00e9e de l'enfant africain, nous renfor\u00e7ons notre engagement \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un avenir o\u00f9 chaque enfant aura la possibilit\u00e9 d'apprendre et de s'\u00e9panouir.
