Lorsqu'elle se posait des questions, personne n'\u00e9tait l\u00e0 pour y r\u00e9pondre. \u201cMa grande s\u0153ur et mes parents n'en ont jamais parl\u00e9\u201d, dit-elle.<\/p>\n<p>C'est pourquoi, plus tard, lorsque Cecelia a eu l'occasion d'en apprendre davantage sur la sant\u00e9 et les droits sexuels et g\u00e9n\u00e9siques (SRHR), elle l'a saisie \u00e0 bras-le-corps. Pour ensuite partager ses connaissances avec le plus grand nombre de pairs possible. \u201cJ'ai d\u00e9couvert que je n'\u00e9tais pas la seule \u00e0 n'avoir jamais rien appris \u00e0 ce sujet auparavant\u201d, explique-t-elle. \u201cDans de nombreux foyers africains, les DSSR sont tabous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Tabou<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>C'est en partie parce que des sujets tels que le sexe et les relations ne sont pas abord\u00e9s que les grossesses chez les adolescentes et le VIH, par exemple, sont fr\u00e9quents au Malawi. Les soins de sant\u00e9 dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9 sexuelle et reproductive laissent \u00e9galement \u00e0 d\u00e9sirer. \u201cEn principe, tout le monde peut se rendre dans les centres de sant\u00e9, mais le seuil pour les filles et les femmes est beaucoup plus \u00e9lev\u00e9\u201d, d\u00e9clare Cecelia. \u201cLes centres de sant\u00e9 se trouvent souvent dans des endroits tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s qui sont beaucoup plus dangereux pour les filles que pour les gar\u00e7ons. Et le tabou fait qu'il est plus difficile pour elles de poser des questions sur la contraception dans un endroit aussi fr\u00e9quent\u00e9. Les gar\u00e7ons osent souvent aller chercher des pr\u00e9servatifs, mais pour les filles, c'est beaucoup plus difficile\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>En conversation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cecelia a donc d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s'engager en tant que jeune activiste pour le programme Break Free ! au Malawi. Il s'agit de faire en sorte que les droits sexuels et g\u00e9n\u00e9siques puissent \u00eatre discut\u00e9s et que les jeunes soient conscients de leurs droits. \u201cJe m'engage aupr\u00e8s des filles et des gar\u00e7ons de tous \u00e2ges pour leur fournir les bonnes informations\u201d, explique-t-elle. \u201cIl est important qu'ils sachent o\u00f9 ils peuvent obtenir les soins appropri\u00e9s, mais aussi comment ils peuvent se prot\u00e9ger contre le VIH ou une grossesse non d\u00e9sir\u00e9e. Par exemple, nous sommes actifs sur les m\u00e9dias sociaux et nous y diffusons les informations dont les jeunes ont besoin. Le programme Break Free ! m'aide \u00e0 entrer en contact avec diff\u00e9rents groupes de jeunes et \u00e0 travailler ensemble pour renforcer notre message.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIl est important que les jeunes sachent o\u00f9 obtenir les bons soins, mais aussi comment se prot\u00e9ger du VIH ou d'une grossesse non d\u00e9sir\u00e9e\u201d - Cecelia<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cecelia a d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 transmettre son message \u00e0 de nombreux jeunes, et l'impact qu'elle et ses coll\u00e8gues activistes ont sur eux est significatif. \u201cNous constatons que de plus en plus de gens parlent de la sant\u00e9 et des droits sexuels et g\u00e9n\u00e9siques, par exemple \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole ou dans les clubs de jeunes. Le tabou s'estompe de plus en plus. Et nous constatons d\u00e9j\u00e0 que le nombre de mariages d'enfants diminue. J'en suis extr\u00eamement fi\u00e8re.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Lobby<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Le travail de Cecelia a \u00e9galement port\u00e9 ses fruits au niveau national. Elle a fait pression sur le gouvernement au sujet de l'\u00e9tat des soins de sant\u00e9 au Malawi. \u201cLe budget consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 sexuelle et reproductive a augment\u00e9 en cons\u00e9quence. J'ai \u00e9galement rejoint mes coll\u00e8gues activistes pour discuter avec le ministre de l'\u00e9ducation afin de mettre \u00e0 l'ordre du jour une \u00e9ducation sexuelle ad\u00e9quate dans les \u00e9coles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Opposition<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bien que son travail lui ait d\u00e9j\u00e0 permis de r\u00e9aliser beaucoup de choses, il reste encore beaucoup de chemin \u00e0 parcourir. \u201cNous constatons encore beaucoup d'opposition de la part des chefs culturels et religieux, par exemple. Ils ont une vision de la sant\u00e9 et des droits sexuels diff\u00e9rente de la n\u00f4tre, il est donc tr\u00e8s important que nous les fassions participer \u00e0 la discussion et que nous parvenions \u00e0 les convaincre de notre point de vue. Mais il y a encore beaucoup de mythes au sein de certaines communaut\u00e9s sur la contraception, par exemple. Si vous vous y opposez, vous devenez la brebis galeuse de la communaut\u00e9\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIl y a encore beaucoup de mythes au sein de certaines communaut\u00e9s sur la contraception\u201d - Cecelia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Le genre est \u00e0 l'ordre du jour<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Du 13 au 15 f\u00e9vrier, Cecelia a particip\u00e9 au pr\u00e9-sommet \u201cGender Is My Agenda\u201d (GIMAC) \u00e0 Addis-Abeba, en \u00c9thiopie. C'est l\u00e0 que les femmes de tous les pays africains et leurs alli\u00e9s se r\u00e9unissent pour d\u00e9fendre leurs droits et faire entendre la voix des filles et des femmes. Ici, en tant que jeune activiste, elle a attir\u00e9 l'attention des gouvernements et des organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile sur la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d'une \u00e9ducation sexuelle plus accessible pour les jeunes. \"Cela n\u00e9cessite des investissements. Les enseignants doivent \u00eatre form\u00e9s pour transmettre les bonnes connaissances et le gouvernement doit faire plus d'efforts pour utiliser les bons canaux afin que tous les jeunes, qu'ils soient urbains ou ruraux, puissent recevoir une bonne \u00e9ducation sexuelle.\"<\/p>\n<p><em>Break Free ! est un programme quinquennal (2021-2025) de Plan International, SRHR Africa Trust (SAT) et Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) et en partenariat strat\u00e9gique avec le minist\u00e8re n\u00e9erlandais des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res. Nous travaillons \u00e9galement en \u00e9troite collaboration avec le Rozaria Memorial Trust et le KIT Royal Tropical Institute.
