C'est en grande pompe que l'IPRC de Kigali s'est rendu sur son terrain le samedi 11th<\/sup> En ao\u00fbt 2018, 486 lyc\u00e9ens du FAWE Rwanda-Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program ont obtenu leur dipl\u00f4me.<\/p>\n

Cette cohorte est la deuxi\u00e8me \u00e0 \u00eatre dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e du Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program au FAWE Rwanda. Le Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offre une \u00e9ducation et un d\u00e9veloppement du leadership \u00e0 35 000 jeunes leaders brillants \u00e0 travers l'Afrique qui s'engagent personnellement \u00e0 changer le monde qui les entoure et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la vie d'autrui.<\/p>\n

Tout en exprimant leur joie \u00e0 l'obtention de leur dipl\u00f4me, les boursiers ont fait remarquer que cette bourse d'\u00e9tudes compl\u00e8te avait non seulement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 leur vie, mais leur avait aussi donn\u00e9 l'espoir de poursuivre la carri\u00e8re dont ils r\u00eavaient.<\/p>\n

\u201cPour \u00eatre honn\u00eate, nous nous sentons responsabilis\u00e9s. La graine qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 plant\u00e9e en nous aujourd'hui va r\u00e9soudre de nombreux probl\u00e8mes dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mme Farha Gafaranga, de l'\u00e9cole du secteur de Biyogo.<\/p>\n

Marie-Christine Gasingirwa, Directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des sciences, de la technologie et de la recherche au Minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation du Rwanda ; Mme Kim Kerr, Directrice des programmes r\u00e9gionaux de la Fondation Mastercard ; Mme Hendrina Chalwe Doroba, Directrice ex\u00e9cutive du FAWE Afrique ; Mme Jennifer Mujuni, Pr\u00e9sidente du FAWE Rwanda ; et Dr Kathy Kantengwa, Coordinatrice nationale du FAWE Rwanda. Les enseignants des \u00e9coles des boursiers, les parents et les partenaires du FAWE Rwanda \u00e9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sents.<\/p>\n

Pour sa part, Mme Gasingirwa a tenu \u00e0 encourager les dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s \u00e0 mettre en pratique les valeurs et les comp\u00e9tences qui leur ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inculqu\u00e9es afin de leur permettre d'\u00eatre autonomes.<\/p>\n

\u201cLorsque nous vous exposons aux vraies valeurs, nous vous inculquons la confiance n\u00e9cessaire pour trouver des solutions. Nous vous avons permis de regarder au-del\u00e0 du Rwanda avec une motivation personnelle et nous vous avons pr\u00e9par\u00e9s \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir davantage de connaissances\u201d, a soulign\u00e9 Mme Gasingira, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des STEM au minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation du Rwanda.<\/p>\n

Elle a \u00e9galement soulign\u00e9 que le minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation du Rwanda \u00e9tait sur le point d'\u00e9laborer un programme d'\u00e9tudes bas\u00e9 sur les comp\u00e9tences dans le domaine des STIM, qui \u201cne vise plus \u00e0 donner des dipl\u00f4mes aux \u00e9tudiants, mais \u00e0 leur permettre d'acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences qui les pr\u00e9parent facilement \u00e0 entrer sur le march\u00e9\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dans le m\u00eame esprit, la directrice des programmes r\u00e9gionaux de la Mastercard Foundation, Mme Kim Kerr, a appel\u00e9 les leaders de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 ne pas se laisser d\u00e9courager dans leur qu\u00eate de d\u00e9veloppement personnel et d'autonomisation de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u201cLorsque vous aborderez le prochain chapitre, les choses ne seront pas toujours simples, prot\u00e9gez votre exp\u00e9rience, vos valeurs et vos principes. En tant que leader transformateur, vous rencontrerez des gens qui vous d\u00e9courageront, mais vous ne devez pas les \u00e9couter ; trouvez votre objectif, pr\u00e9sentez-le et collaborez avec des gens qui partagent votre passion\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mme Kerr.<\/p>\n

Le programme Scholars fournit aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves le mat\u00e9riel scolaire n\u00e9cessaire ainsi qu'une formation aux comp\u00e9tences, un d\u00e9veloppement du leadership, des conseils et un mentorat. Sur une p\u00e9riode de dix ans, le programme vise \u00e0 aider 1 200 jeunes filles rwandaises qui sont de jeunes leaders dans l'enseignement secondaire, en trois cohortes (secondaire 4 \u00e0 6), \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir des connaissances et des comp\u00e9tences essentielles par le biais d'une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9. Cela leur permettra de poursuivre leurs aspirations et de contribuer au d\u00e9veloppement du foyer, de la communaut\u00e9 et du pays.<\/p>\n

Tout en appr\u00e9ciant les partenaires pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, Mme Mujuni, Pr\u00e9sidente du FAWE Rwanda, a encourag\u00e9 le gouvernement et les partenaires de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e0 continuer d'investir dans l'\u00e9ducation des filles dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

\u201cNous appr\u00e9cions vraiment la Fondation Mastercard, le minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation du Rwanda et les autres partenaires qui croient en cette cause. Le type de soutien dont ils font preuve contribuera certainement \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la vie de tant de jeunes, non seulement au Rwanda, mais en Afrique en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mme Mujuni.<\/p>\n

Le programme de bourses d'\u00e9tudes de la Fondation FAWE-Mastercard se d\u00e9roule en \u00c9thiopie et au Rwanda depuis 2013. L'objectif du programme est de renforcer la participation des filles dans les domaines des STIM. L'initiative cible les jeunes femmes qui ont l'intention de poursuivre des \u00e9tudes universitaires en sciences, technologie et math\u00e9matiques. Les deux partenaires ont depuis \u00e9tendu leur action \u00e0 l'Ouganda avec le Higher Education Access Program qui vise \u00e0 permettre \u00e0 300 jeunes femmes et hommes issus des communaut\u00e9s d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es d'acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et d'en assurer la transition, ainsi que de trouver un emploi dans les secteurs qui contribuent au d\u00e9veloppement de leur communaut\u00e9 d'origine.<\/p>\n

\u201cC'est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re dont le FAWE Rwanda a g\u00e9r\u00e9 efficacement le programme que nos partenaires de la Fondation Mastercard nous ont permis de diversifier le programme en Ouganda depuis 2017 en mettant l'accent sur le niveau d'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur \u201d, a soulign\u00e9 Mme Doroba, Directrice ex\u00e9cutive du FAWE Afrique.<\/p>\n

L'\u00e9v\u00e9nement a \u00e9galement vu 14 boursiers recevoir des certificats d'excellence et des t\u00e9l\u00e9phones intelligents pour avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 les plus performants dans leurs \u00e9coles respectives au cours de la p\u00e9riode de parrainage.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
