{"id":32068,"date":"2023-01-24T11:10:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T08:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fawe.org\/?p=32068"},"modified":"2023-01-24T11:10:18","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T08:10:18","slug":"its-never-a-competition-equality-in-education-beyond-enrollment-and-retention-of-girls-in-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fawe.org\/fr\/its-never-a-competition-equality-in-education-beyond-enrollment-and-retention-of-girls-in-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Ce n'est JAMAIS une comp\u00e9tition : L'\u00e9galit\u00e9 dans l'\u00e9ducation au-del\u00e0 de l'inscription et de la r\u00e9tention des filles dans les \u00e9coles."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Journ\u00e9e internationale de l'\u00e9ducation 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Par Mme Martha Muhwezi, directrice ex\u00e9cutive du FAWE Afrique.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, un d\u00e9bat sans fin a eu lieu sur le fait que les filles \u00e9taient devenues trop autonomes et que les gar\u00e7ons \u00e9taient n\u00e9glig\u00e9s. Certains ont m\u00eame affirm\u00e9 que la parit\u00e9 entre les sexes \u00e9tait atteinte et que, par cons\u00e9quent, les gar\u00e7ons et les filles devraient \u00eatre trait\u00e9s de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re dans tous les domaines de la vie, y compris l'\u00e9ducation. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a inconsciemment transform\u00e9 la conversation sur l'\u00e9mancipation des femmes et des filles en une comp\u00e9tition entre les femmes et les hommes, les gar\u00e7ons et les filles, manquant ainsi l'objectif de la d\u00e9fense de l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 et les principes qui s'y rattachent. Les termes \u201cenfant gar\u00e7on\u201d et \u201cenfant fille\u201d perdent de plus en plus de leur sens et gagnent du terrain, en particulier pour l'enfant gar\u00e7on. Les r\u00e9sultats du Kenya Certificate of Secondary School Education (KCSE) de 2022, qui viennent d'\u00eatre publi\u00e9s par le Kenya National Education Council (KNEC) le vendredi 20 janvier 2023, jettent un pav\u00e9 dans la mare.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats montrent que, dans l'ensemble, les gar\u00e7ons s'en sortent mieux que les filles. Sur les 437 772 filles qui ont pass\u00e9 les examens, seules 271 ont obtenu un A simple (0,062%), tandis que sur les 443 644 gar\u00e7ons qui ont pass\u00e9 les examens, 875 ont obtenu la m\u00eame note (0,2%). En revanche, les filles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 moins nombreuses \u00e0 obtenir des notes inf\u00e9rieures, ce qui a conduit certains \u00e0 dire qu'elles avaient surpass\u00e9 leurs homologues masculins en obtenant des notes de C, C moins et D moins. Il est encore plus triste de lire des d\u00e9clarations telles que \u201cbien que les filles soient au centre de l'autonomisation, les gar\u00e7ons restent les g\u00e9ants de l'enseignement\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Il est regrettable qu'une partie de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e8re l'\u00e9mancipation des filles comme une forme de concurrence pour les gar\u00e7ons. Les \u00e9normes disparit\u00e9s dans les r\u00e9sultats scolaires entre les gar\u00e7ons et les filles indiquent clairement qu'il reste encore beaucoup \u00e0 faire pour atteindre l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 dans l'\u00e9ducation et les opportunit\u00e9s futures pour la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 que nous souhaitons. Si les taux d'inscription et de r\u00e9tention peuvent indiquer que la parit\u00e9 entre les sexes a \u00e9t\u00e9 atteinte, la parit\u00e9 n'est pas encore r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en ce qui concerne les r\u00e9sultats scolaires, l'ach\u00e8vement des \u00e9tudes ou le passage \u00e0 des niveaux d'\u00e9ducation plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Au lieu de s'engager dans des arguments et des d\u00e9bats sans fondement, il est important de chercher \u00e0 savoir pourquoi il existe encore une telle disparit\u00e9 malgr\u00e9 les progr\u00e8s consid\u00e9rables r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re de scolarisation des gar\u00e7ons et des filles. Il ne fait aucun doute que les filles sont affect\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e par les valeurs sociales et les questions de sant\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9sique qui ont un impact n\u00e9gatif sur les r\u00e9sultats scolaires. Un nombre important de filles ont pass\u00e9 leurs examens alors qu'elles \u00e9taient enceintes, certaines \u00e9tant d\u00e9j\u00e0 admises \u00e0 l'h\u00f4pital en vue de l'accouchement. Existe-t-il des options pour ces filles ? Est-il vraiment \u00e9quitable de se pr\u00e9senter aux examens avec les autres \u00e9tudiants ? Les solutions pour rem\u00e9dier aux disparit\u00e9s doivent \u00eatre holistiques et s'attaquer aux lacunes du syst\u00e8me acad\u00e9mique dans son ensemble. Cette performance est-elle particuli\u00e8re \u00e0 cette ann\u00e9e ou s'agit-il d'une tendance depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es ? Si c'est le cas, le covid 19 pourrait-il en \u00eatre la cause ?<\/p>\n<p>Le Forum pour l'\u00e9ducation des femmes africaines (FAWE) Afrique, une organisation panafricaine, continue de d\u00e9fendre activement l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 et la qualit\u00e9 de l'\u00e9ducation pour les filles dans les \u00e9coles \u00e0 travers l'Afrique. La scolarisation, la r\u00e9tention, les r\u00e9sultats scolaires et la transition vers des niveaux d'\u00e9ducation plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s doivent se faire \u00e0 des niveaux \u00e9quitables. Un partenariat strat\u00e9gique avec les minist\u00e8res de l'\u00e9ducation et d'autres parties prenantes est essentiel pour garantir cette \u00e9galit\u00e9. Afin de s'assurer que les syst\u00e8mes \u00e9ducatifs adoptent une approche holistique pour garantir une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9 aux apprenants, le FAWE a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 la Strat\u00e9gie pour l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 entre les hommes et les femmes dans le cadre de la Strat\u00e9gie continentale d'\u00e9ducation pour l'Afrique 16-25 (GES4CESA) et continue \u00e0 renforcer les capacit\u00e9s des enseignants en mati\u00e8re de p\u00e9dagogie sensible au genre (GRP). Ces efforts visent \u00e0 briser le st\u00e9r\u00e9otype selon lequel les gar\u00e7ons sont plus brillants que les filles et \u00e0 promouvoir l'id\u00e9e que les filles peuvent obtenir les m\u00eames r\u00e9sultats que les gar\u00e7ons dans les m\u00eames syst\u00e8mes \u00e9ducatifs.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que le monde c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la Journ\u00e9e internationale de l'\u00e9ducation, il est imp\u00e9ratif de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 la meilleure fa\u00e7on d'am\u00e9liorer l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9. \u00c0 la suite de la publication des r\u00e9sultats des examens des \u00e9coles secondaires du Kenya pour 2023, c'est l'occasion d'augmenter les ressources pour aborder les nuances qui affectent l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 de participation des filles \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole. Nous devons nous attaquer aux probl\u00e8mes sociaux tels que les responsabilit\u00e9s domestiques concurrentes, les probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9sique, la violence sexiste li\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole et les grossesses chez les adolescentes. Nous devons \u00e9galement nous pencher sur des questions telles que les m\u00e9thodes d'enseignement et la p\u00e9dagogie, afin de nous assurer qu'elles tiennent compte des sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s de chaque sexe et qu'elles encouragent une participation \u00e9gale en classe.
