Le porte-drapeau du Congr\u00e8s national d\u00e9mocratique (NDC), l'Honorable John Dramani Mahama, a annonc\u00e9 la nomination de sa colisti\u00e8re, en la personne du Professeur Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. Le FAWE Afrique a accueilli cette nouvelle avec enthousiasme car le Prof. Naana est l'actuelle Pr\u00e9sidente du Conseil d'administration, en poste depuis 2017.<\/p>\n<p>En tant que ministre de l'\u00e9ducation du Ghana, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnue pour avoir d\u00e9fendu avec succ\u00e8s des r\u00e9formes telles que la conversion des \u00e9coles polytechniques en universit\u00e9s techniques, la transformation des coll\u00e8ges d'\u00e9ducation en \u00e9tablissements d'enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et la r\u00e9duction de l'absent\u00e9isme des enseignants de 27% \u00e0 7%. Elle a \u00e9galement men\u00e9 des n\u00e9gociations avec la Banque mondiale qui ont permis d'obtenir pour le Ghana le projet phare d'am\u00e9lioration de l'enseignement secondaire et l'initiative des centres d'excellence africains. Cela a permis la cr\u00e9ation et le financement du Centre d'Afrique de l'Ouest pour l'am\u00e9lioration des cultures, du Centre d'Afrique de l'Ouest pour la biologie cellulaire des agents pathog\u00e8nes infectieux, tous deux \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 du Ghana, et du Centre r\u00e9gional pour l'eau et l'assainissement de l'environnement \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 Kwame Nkrumah des sciences et de la technologie.<\/p>\n<p>La F\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale des femmes juristes (FIDA-Ghana) a approuv\u00e9 sa nomination en d\u00e9clarant qu'elle d\u00e9fendait la loi sur la discrimination positive au Ghana. Elle a \u00e9galement d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que sa nomination constituait une \u00e9tape importante vers l'accession d'un plus grand nombre de femmes \u00e0 la haute hi\u00e9rarchie de la politique et de la gouvernance nationale.<\/p>\n<p>Formidable avocate de l'autonomisation des femmes, Mme Opoku-Agyemang est pr\u00e9sidente du Conseil d'administration du Forum des \u00e9ducatrices africaines (FAWE) pour l'Afrique depuis 2017. Au cours de son mandat, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de diriger les efforts et de contribuer immens\u00e9ment \u00e0 la promotion de l'\u00e9ducation et de la formation des femmes et des filles \u00e0 travers l'Afrique. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son leadership, elle a eu un impact positif sur la vie d'environ 9 000 enfants en collectant des fonds \u00e0 hauteur de $35 millions.<\/p>\n<p>Sous sa direction avis\u00e9e, le FAWE a \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 laur\u00e9at du cycle 2017 du Prix Al-Sumait pour le d\u00e9veloppement africain dans le domaine de l'\u00e9ducation. Ce prix est une affirmation des r\u00e9alisations du FAWE dans l'am\u00e9lioration significative de l'\u00e9quit\u00e9 et de l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 entre les sexes dans l'\u00e9ducation, \u00e0 travers des programmes cibl\u00e9s, ayant un impact profond sur les attitudes et les pratiques \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard de l'\u00e9ducation des filles et influen\u00e7ant les politiques \u00e9ducatives dans 33 pays d'Afrique sub-saharienne. Le Prof. Opoku-Agyemang a \u00e9galement supervis\u00e9 le d\u00e9veloppement et le lancement de l'actuel Plan strat\u00e9gique du FAWE 2019-2023 qui est centr\u00e9 sur une approche adaptative et bas\u00e9e sur les droits. Cela permet \u00e0 l'organisation de rester r\u00e9active aux changements contextuels, d'aborder les questions \u00e9mergentes, d'att\u00e9nuer les d\u00e9fis rencontr\u00e9s dans l'\u00e9ducation des filles, de promouvoir les droits et le bien-\u00eatre des filles et des femmes dans l'adversit\u00e9 et de leur donner les moyens d'\u00eatre des membres autonomes et productifs de leurs soci\u00e9t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, elle a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le de premier plan dans l'\u00e9laboration de la strat\u00e9gie pour l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 entre les hommes et les femmes dans le cadre de la strat\u00e9gie continentale d'\u00e9ducation pour l'Afrique 16-25 (GES4CESA), un outil con\u00e7u pour aider les \u00c9tats membres de l'UA \u00e0 r\u00e9orienter leurs syst\u00e8mes d'\u00e9ducation et de formation afin que le plus grand nombre possible de filles et de femmes acqui\u00e8rent les connaissances, les comp\u00e9tences, les aptitudes, l'innovation et la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires pour favoriser le d\u00e9veloppement de l'Afrique.<\/p>\n<p>Le FAWE adresse ses plus sinc\u00e8res f\u00e9licitations au Professeur Opoku-Agyemang.
