The team officially kicked off the Phase II Staff Induction for the FAWE\u2013Mastercard Foundation Programme, marking a significant step forward in the organisation&#8217;s mission to expand access to education and skills development for marginalized young women and men. The week-long induction represented more than a procedural milestone; it was a powerful affirmation of FAWE&#8217;s commitment to building capacity, strengthening systems and delivering impact at scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FAWE welcomed Emily Gumba, Senior Programme Officer; Grace Wambua, Senior HR Officer; and Martin Okhako, Programme Officer, on the ground to support Tanzanian colleagues through the roadmap for this next chapter. Their presence signalled a renewed investment in human capital and a recognition that the success of Phase II depended on the expertise, dedication and collaboration of a strengthened team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The induction provided an invaluable opportunity for the new team members to familiarise themselves with the programme&#8217;s objectives, understand the operational landscape and begin building the relationships that would underpin successful implementation. It was a moment of integration and alignment, as new and existing staff members came together around a shared vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The session was packed with strategic planning. Key priorities included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finalising workplans and budgets to ensure that resources were aligned with programme objectives and delivered maximum impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setting clear timelines for recruiting the remaining 10 staff members, recognising that a full and capable team was essential to achieving the programme&#8217;s ambitious goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening team capacity and reviewing due diligence processes to ensure that operations were robust, transparent and accountable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing for the upcoming student recruitment drive for TVET, which would open doors for young people seeking practical skills and pathways to employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of these priorities represented a critical building block for the programme&#8217;s success. Together, they formed a comprehensive framework for implementation that balanced ambition with rigour and vision with practicality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Phase II Staff Induction built on the foundations laid during Phase I of the FAWE\u2013Mastercard Foundation partnership. It reflected the lessons learned, the relationships cultivated and the impact achieved, while setting a clear direction for the future. The induction was not merely about onboarding new staff; it was about renewing a collective commitment to the young people whose lives the programme sought to transform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the induction concluded, the FAWE Tanzania team emerged energised, aligned and ready to embark on the next chapter. The road ahead was ambitious, but the foundation was strong.
