The two-day gathering, held on July 8-9, provided a structured platform for comprehensive review, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, reinforcing FAWE&#8217;s commitment to excellence, accountability, and transformative impact in advancing gender-responsive education across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opening day was led by the Senior Management Team under the leadership of Dr. Martha Muhwezi, Executive Director, alongside Teresa Omondi-Adeitan, Deputy Executive Director &amp; Head of Programmes, and Richard Chelagat, Director of Finance and Administration. Their opening remarks reaffirmed FAWE&#8217;s unwavering dedication to excellence, accountability, innovation, and transformative impact. The day featured comprehensive performance presentations from FAWE&#8217;s technical and operational teams, showcasing achievements, lessons learned, and strategic priorities. Beatrice Muiyuro (Finance), Martin Okhako (Programmes on behalf of Emily Gumba), Emily Buyaki (Communications on behalf of Kossi Tsenou), James Njuguna (Knowledge Management on behalf of Gordon Aomo), Crispus Malenya (Safeguarding), Catherine Asego (Advocacy &amp; Partnerships), Douglas Masika (Resource Mobilization), Annah Katuki (Gender), and Grace Wambua (Human Resources) delivered detailed updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The day concluded with a comprehensive review of the Organizational Work Plan, facilitated by Gordon Aomo, Senior Knowledge Management Officer. This session identified performance gaps and began charting the course for a strengthened second half of the year. The energy and commitment in the room were palpable, as staff from all units engaged in lively Q&amp;A sessions, shared best practices, and demonstrated the collaborative spirit that defines FAWE&#8217;s organizational culture. Day one&#8217;s reflections provided a solid foundation for turning insights into actionable strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on the reflections and performance reviews of Day One, the second day shifted focus to the future\u2014transforming lessons learned into concrete actions. The day began with a sensitization session on the Management Information System (MIS), reinforcing FAWE&#8217;s commitment to data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and organizational accountability. Staff then engaged in collaborative planning sessions to review and refine the July\u2013December 2026 workplans. Team presentations were delivered by Catherine Mwangi (Finance), Joan Too (IT), Emily Gumba (Programmes), Birane Diarra (Communications), Crispus Malenya (Safeguarding), Anne Motanya (Knowledge Management), John Waweru (Resource Mobilization), Annah Katuki (Gender), Mercy Mueni (ED Office &amp; Governance), Zawadi Achieng (Human Resources), and Karen Ondwasi (Advocacy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planning sessions successfully aligned priorities, identified strategic opportunities, and strengthened cross-functional collaboration to enhance delivery and maximize organizational impact. A dedicated staff wellbeing session reaffirmed that a healthy, motivated, and empowered workforce is central to achieving FAWE&#8217;s mission of advancing gender-responsive education across Africa. In her closing remarks, Dr. Martha Muhwezi commended staff for their dedication and collaborative spirit throughout the review process.
