The Assembly brought together committed members, partners, and stakeholders united by a shared mission: expanding opportunities for girls and young women while promoting inclusive education systems that benefit both girls and boys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This important governance moment was strengthened by the presence of Dr. Martha Muhwezi, Executive Director of FAWE Africa, who led the Regional Secretariat delegation in support of the chapter. Her participation underscored FAWE Africa\u2019s commitment to strengthening national chapters as key drivers of sustainable impact across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As members reflected on the chapter\u2019s achievements and future priorities, Dr. Martha emphasised the central role of leadership and governance in ensuring institutional sustainability and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGovernance is the backbone of sustainability. This strategic engagement reinforced FAWE Gabon\u2019s institutional positioning and strengthened collaboration with government authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting provided an opportunity to present FAWE\u2019s mission, share the new Board\u2019s priorities, and explore avenues for partnership in advancing gender-responsive education, social protection, and empowerment initiatives. Dr. Martha reaffirmed FAWE Africa\u2019s continued commitment to supporting the Gabon chapter in strengthening governance systems and expanding its national impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This engagement represents an important step in ensuring that FAWE Gabon\u2019s work remains aligned with national priorities and supported through strong institutional partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expanding Strategic Partnerships with UNESCO and UNFPA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its strategic mission, the FAWE delegation also held high-level discussions with the UNESCO Office in Gabon. Led by Dr. Thierry P. Nzamba Nzamba, UNESCO\u2019s National Programme Officer for Culture, the meeting highlighted strong mutual interest in deepening collaboration to advance inclusive, gender-responsive education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Discussions focused on scaling up FAWE\u2019s proven approaches\u2014including Tuseme, Gender-Responsive Pedagogy, and Centres of Excellence\u2014which have demonstrated impact in empowering learners, strengthening participation, and improving learning environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate engagement, FAWE leaders met with UNFPA Gabon, represented by Madam Octavia Avome Engone, Director of Programs. The discussions reinforced a shared commitment to addressing barriers affecting education, wellbeing, and leadership opportunities for young people.
