FAWE Africa proudly participated in the Pan African Conference on Teacher Education (PACTED 2025) on 2 October 2025, for an afternoon breakout session under the theme: \u201cEmpowering Educators for Inclusive and Transformative Learning: Teacher Professional Development for Gender-Responsive Pedagogy in Africa.\u201d<\/em> This high-level platform, convened by the African Union, brought together key stakeholders in education to strengthen collaboration on teacher professional development and inclusive pedagogical practices across the continent.<\/p>\n

The session featured an outstanding panel of experts and partners working at the forefront of gender-responsive education. Dr. Martha R. L. Muhwezi, Executive Director of FAWE Africa, delivered a compelling message highlighting FAWE\u2019s commitment to advancing Gender-Responsive Pedagogy (GRP) as a key driver for inclusive learning. She was joined by Mr. Boubakar Yougbar\u00e9 (AU\/CIEFFA), Dr. Quentin Wodon (UNESCO IICBA), Likho Bottoman (Director of Social Cohesion and Equity in Education, South Africa), Evelyne Nyongesa (VVOB), and Catherine S. Asego (FAWE Africa). Their contributions underlined the urgency of equipping educators with transformative tools and skills to address gender disparities in education systems.<\/p>\n

This collaborative dialogue reaffirmed the collective vision to build equitable, inclusive, and gender-responsive teacher education in Africa. FAWE Africa continues to champion GRP as a critical lever for achieving education for all, ensuring that both girls and boys learn in environments that respect their needs and potential.
