The meeting brought together education leaders, policymakers, and academic experts to reflect on strategies that can address the gaps faced by students transitioning to university, especially in STEM fields.<\/p>\n<p>The first panel discussion focused on Zimbabwe\u2019s current policy environment, highlighting both the challenges and the opportunities in implementing STEM-focused bridging programs within state universities. This was followed by a second panel where representatives from a Ugandan university shared their experience in running similar programs. Their insights offered practical, regionally grounded recommendations that Zimbabwe can adapt to its unique context.<\/p>\n<p>This timely and inclusive dialogue is part of a broader commitment to ensuring that no young woman or man is left behind in the pursuit of higher education. By bringing local and regional voices to the table, the meeting marked a crucial step toward building scalable, transformative solutions for the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAWEZI Engages Education Ministry on Grassroots Learning and Teacher Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FAWEZI, in partnership with FAWE, met with Zimbabwe\u2019s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Torerayi Moyo, to discuss key areas of collaboration in the education sector. The engagement centered on strengthening learning at the grassroots level, improving education financing, and enhancing continuous professional development for teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Moyo commended FAWEZI for its long-standing dedication to training educators using transformative approaches. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in breathing life into FAWE\u2019s guiding motto, \u201cEducation for Change.\u201d The Minister also acknowledged the ongoing challenge many teachers face in accessing further training after their initial qualification, recognizing FAWEZI\u2019s efforts in bridging that gap.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting not only reaffirmed FAWE\u2019s role in shaping teacher development in Zimbabwe but also underscored the Ministry\u2019s commitment to partnerships that uplift the education system from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAWE and UNICEF Zimbabwe Reaffirm Shared Commitment to Girls\u2019 Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FAWEZI and FAWE paid a working visit to UNICEF Zimbabwe to strengthen their ongoing collaboration in advancing gender-responsive education.
