WELLSPRING PHILANTHROPIC <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

FAWE, through the Wellspring Philanthropy Fund programme, continues to champion the advancement of girls\u2019 education across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on South Sudan, Tanzania, and Zanzibar. This three-year initiative, which runs from 2023 to 2025, is meant to address systemic barriers that hinder the education of girls and proper functioning in quality environments for education. The program is designed to integrate FAWE’s best-practice models\u2014TUSEME, Centers of Excellence (COE), and Gender-Responsive Pedagogy (GRP)-into one overarching framework that attends to both the educational and social welfare of girls in target regions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The program’s main goal is to drive policy change and improve educational outcomes for girls via evidence-based advocacy and best practices. Advocacy will include ensuring the use of evidence in policy-making by researching issues of effective approaches to girls’ education, promoting the certification of Gender-Responsive Pedagogy for pre-service teachers, documenting successful approaches in advancing girls’ education in Africa based on FAWE’s rich experience, and building the capacity of FAWE National Chapters to advocate for policies that will get rid of barriers girls face in accessing quality education.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The programme has remarkably achieved gratifying levels with support from the Wellspring Philanthropy Fund and upon diverse collaboration with important stakeholders like Ministries of Education and Health. The programme involved two secondary schools and one college in Tanzania, where training was provided in Gender-Responsive Pedagogy for 30 pre-service teachers. Additional forums for leadership skill development and girls’ advocacy for their rights have been developed by two TUSEME clubs. On the other hand, in Zanzibar, two secondary schools, two colleges, and 30 pre-service teachers were trained on Gender-Responsive Pedagogy. Two TUSEME clubs were also established in Zanzibar. A major accomplishment of the programme is the formation of a Centre of Excellence at Kizigo Secondary in Tanzania, which serves as a guide for best practices.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
