1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Background and Rationale<\/h3>\n

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) will convene the 4th FAWE Triennale International Conference on Girls\u2019 Education in Africa as a high-level continental platform to mobilise political commitment, sustainable financing, innovation, and accountability for gender-transformative education systems. Despite progress in access to education, African girls\u2014particularly those from marginalised, rural, fragile, and crisis-affected contexts\u2014continue to face persistent barriers to retention, completion, and learning outcomes. These challenges are compounded by chronic underfinancing of education, weak application of gender-transformative budgeting, limited youth participation in decision-making, and unequal access to technology and innovation. Anchored in SDGs 4 and 5, the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA) 2026\u20132035, Agenda 2063, and the AU Decade of Education, the conference positions sustainable financing, youth leadership, innovation, and multi-sectoral partnerships as mutually reinforcing levers to accelerate progress for girls\u2019 education across Africa. Building on FAWE\u2019s more than three decades of leadership in advancing gender equality in education, the 4th Triennale Conference seeks to mobilize sustainable financing, innovation, partnerships, and youth leadership as mutually reinforcing levers to accelerate progress for girls\u2019 education across Africa. FAWE invites researchers, policymakers, practitioners, civil society actors, development partners, private sector actors, youth leaders, and students to submit abstracts that contribute evidence, policy insights, and scalable solutions aligned with the conference theme and sub-themes.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conference Objectives<\/h3>\n

The conference aims to:<\/p>\n

  1. Mobilise political, financial, and institutional commitments to sustainably finance gender-transformative education systems.<\/li>\n
  2. Elevate youth voices and leadership in education financing, governance, and accountability.<\/li>\n
  3. Promote innovation, technology, and partnerships that enhance girls\u2019 access, retention, completion, and learning outcomes.<\/li>\n
  4. Strengthen policy coherence, institutional capacity, and accountability mechanisms for effective education financing and results delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            FAWE welcomes abstracts for the following presentation formats:<\/p>\n

            4. Case Studies and Good Practice Showcases \/ Workshop<\/li>\n
            5. Youth-Led Sessions and Innovation Pitches<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Abstract Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n

              Abstracts should:<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. Be 300 \u2013 400 words in length; Font: Calibri 11<\/li>\n
              2. Clearly state the background, objectives, methodology\/approach, key findings or insights, and implications for policy and practice;<\/li>\n
              3. Include the title, author(s), institutional affiliation(s), contact email, selected sub-theme, and 3\u20135 keywords;<\/li>\n
              4. Indicate the preferred presentation format;<\/li>\n
              5. Demonstrate clear relevance to the conference theme and objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                For good practice showcases, authors should highlight innovation, results\/impact, costs, key lessons, and scalability.<\/em><\/p>\n

                All submissions will undergo peer review by the FAWE Conference Scientific Review Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n
