Mrs. Amicoleh Mbaye is a former Honorary Secretary of FAWE Africa and an experienced professional who brings many years of leadership in the Education sector. She was a Director of Basic and Secondary Education in the Ministry of Education in Gambia until December 2015 when she retired.
She then joined the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority in The Gambia as Acting Chief Executive Officer and Director of Quality Assurance for Higher Education from March 2016 for a brief period of one year. She is currently engaged in educational consultancy.
Mrs. Mbaye also serves as Chairperson of the international advisory board of the Partnership for Child Development based at the Imperial College in London (UK); Chair of the international advisory board of Child Fund Gambia; and, Coordinator of ECOWAS Network of Ministries of Education SHN/HIV AIDS Focal Points.
She is also the current Chair of the Board of Governors for Armitage Senior Secondary School in The Gambia.
A mother of four, she holds a Master’s degree in Education Management and Planning.
