Policy Advocacy
• Trained a core team to ensure gender mainstreaming in EFA NAPS
• Conducted sensitisation workshops on strategies to use in analysing
gender gaps in educational policies
• Participated in the dissemination of the MoE EFA Handbook
• Participated in the development and dissemination of the Kenya Gender Policy in Education
• Review of EFA documents for gender responsiveness
• Production of an education statistics booklet in conjunction with MoE
Community Advocacy
• Launch of FAWE sub branches
• Celebrate Girls’ Education Day
• Gender sensitisation workshop in Taita/Taveta District
• Community sensitisation project in Mbeere
• Chapter uses print and electronic media to discuss issues of girls education

- Collaborates with Advance Africa to incorporate skills – based HIV/AIDS training in girls’ education
- Thika Peer Counsellors Project – has reached 8,000 girls
- Set up guidance and counselling desks in two schools
- Establishment of girls clubs in Kitui, Kajiado, Mbeere
- Combating Poverty
- Provides bursaries to girls
- Fund raising activities to boost bursary fund
- Creating a conducive learning environment for girls’ education
