H.E. President Paul Kagame has appointed two FAWE Rwanda Alumni to senior government positions.
Ms. Claudette Irere is the new Director General for Rwanda’s Ministry of Youth and ICT. Prior to joining the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Claudette co- founded and managed FabLab Rwanda and was at the same time, the Customer Relationship Manager at RwandaOnline Platform Ltd.
Ms. Alline Kabbatende has joined the Board of Directors of Rwanda Broadcasting Agency as a member. Alline is the chief operating officer at RwandaOnline Platform Limited.
According to a Statement signed by Stella Ford Mugabo, Rwanda’s Minister in Charge of Cabinet Affairs and published on Rwanda updates.com, the President made the appointments during one of the government’s regular cabinet meetings held on 3rd April 2017 in Kigali, Rwanda.
In her congratulatory message, Hendrina Doroba, Executive Director FAWE RS, exhorted them to strengthen your skills and knowledge and most importantly serve the people of Rwanda with utmost diligence. The appointees were also invited to tell their story of breaking the glass ceiling and becoming living examples of an empowered African woman.
Ms Claudette and Ms. Kabbatende were FAWE Alumni from 1999-2005.
