FAWE was among the 1,900 delegates and educators from around the World who participated at the 58th Annual Conference Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) conference held in in Toronto, Canada from 10th to 15th March 2014. The discussions were centered on “Re-visioning Education for All” to explore the adequacy and future of Education For All (EFA), moving them beyond the historical focus on access to basic schooling. FAWE working jointly with the MasterCard Foundation contributed to the discussion on creating a positive social change and economic growth through education; developing Young Transformative Leaders; improving Program Quality through Learning; as well as formal informal education. The duo presented a paper on an innovative and holistic scholarship programme that has the potential to transform young people from beneficiaries to benefactors.
