FAWE’S 9TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS HERE!!

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is pleased to announce that preparations are underway for the organisation of the 9th General Assembly (GA), a statutory triennial meeting. Approximately, one hundred and twenty (120) participants from 33 sub-Saharan countries are expected to participate and deliberate on the status of girls’ education in Africa. The participants will include FAWE members; FAWE beneficiaries and alumni as well as representatives from FAWE’s funding partners, regional education bodies, NGOs, researchers and gender specialists from regional and sub-regional organization.
The meeting will be held on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th August 2014 at the Boma Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme for this conference is FAWE beyond 20 years: “Sustaining the momentum through diverse partnerships.”
The FAWE network members will be taking stock and celebrating the organization’s contributions towards the MDGs and EFA as well as reshaping FAWE’s partnership engagements beyond 2015. The Youth participants will focus their discussion on give-back dialogue by the FAWE Alumni; the role of young people in the post 2015 MDG agenda; showcasing of FAWE youth scholars in Science & Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and FAWE’s Leadership dialogue.
Practical Information: Kindly note that all conference materials will be made available in both languages – French and English. Simultaneous translation will be availed to facilitate communication.
