Founding Member

Hon. Paulette Missambo is one of the founding members of FAWE. She is a former Minister of State for Education of Gabon and has held several other ministerial positions.

Hon. Missambo was born in Gabon and rose to prominence in her country’s government. She has since 1991 held successive ministerial positions, including Minister of State in charge of Education and the Status of Women (1991-1994), Minister of Education and Sports (1994-1997), and Minister of State in charge of Labour, Employment and Professional Training (1999-2001) and was in 2002 appointed Minister of State for Transportation and Civil Aviation.

She has served as the President of the Gabon Commission to UNESCO and has been honorary president of the Association of Female Educators of Gabon. Through the organisation she has supported the education of girls in Gabon and sponsored research on issues affecting them.
