My name is Nafiso Mohamed Khallif. I was among the beneciaries of the TVET training provided by FAWE Somalia.
I had dropped out of school and was just staying at home when I heard the announcement on the radio. I went to the Skills for Youth Center and was enrolled. They were the most welcoming and kind people I had seen. They explained what I had to gain from the training and I was immediately impressed and enrolled. That turned out to best decision I had made.
After completing my training I was a transformed person. I had grown confidence, was self-assured and had an appetite for more knowledge and skills. Cognizant of my abilities, I enrolled for a diploma in nutrition. The training is the single most important thing that has helped my get to where I am now. I am currently studying at Global Science University and also work part-time at the Galkaio Medical center.
I would like to complete my studies and further pursue more education. My parents and family have been impressed and now understand the importance of taking advantage of these opportunities. They can relate my success to the training and have now become more aware of its importance.
