FAWE\u2019s\u00a0<u>vision, mission and goal<\/u>\u00a0are all resolute on the well-being of girls\u2019 education. In order to accomplish its mission of \u2018promoting gender equity and equality in education in Africa\u2019 FAWE uses a\u00a0<u>holistic four-pronged approach<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>FAWE is a non-political, voluntary, charitable, non-sectarian, not-for-profit organisation and does not discriminate on the basis of race, ideology, colour, nationality or religious persuasion. However, its target beneficiaries and constituency are primarily girls and women.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tOur Vision\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>An equitable and inclusive society where all African girls and<br \/>\nwomen are thriving.<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tOur Mission\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>To promote gender responsive policies, practices, and attitudes in education<br \/>\nto enhance equal opportunities for African girls and women.<\/h2>\n<h2>01<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Advocacy and Policy Engagements<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tInfluencing governments and other partners to review existing educational policies and adopt strategies to achieve greater participation \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<h2>02<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCommunity Advocacy<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBuilding public awareness on the social and economic value of girls\u2019 education so that citizens themselves take responsibility for the task and collectively work to support the agenda.\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<h2>03<\/h2>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDemonstrative Interventions<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tDeveloping and promoting models that demonstrate that contexts can be created that are conducive to girls\u2019 enrolment, continuation and successful completion of the school cycle.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tOur History\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>A Legacy of Empowerment and Transformative Impact<\/h2>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t1991\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe idea of FAWE<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tMooted at a meeting held in October 1991 in Manchester.\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t1992\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFAWE is created by African women policy-makers in education.<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t founded in 1992 by five African women ministers of education\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t1995\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFortification and expansion of FAWE Membership<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t17 countries had formed National Chapters which were all at different stages of obtaining le\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t2002\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOfficial opening of FAWE House<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFormed key partnerships to amplify our impact.\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t2008\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFAWE receives the 2008 Henry R. We encourage our\u00a0<u>partners<\/u>\u00a0to enact policies and provide positive learning environments that treat girls and boys equally.<\/p>\n<p>Our work influences government policy, builds public awareness, demonstrates best educational practice through effective models and encourages the adoption of these models by governments and institutions of education.
